The festival that started it all. There can be no Fringe if there is no heart. The Edinburgh International Festival plays host to the best of the world's music, dance and theatre. Started after World War II to bring the nations of the world together, it continues to inspire all these years on.
THE ROYAL EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an iconic Edinburgh institution and a sellout year after year. Music, dance and precision are displayed with the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Massed Military Bands, cultural troupes, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. It is truly the heart of Scottish tradition.
