Culture & Culinary
Here's a sampling of some of the amazing culinary and cultural experiences we are organizing to make you and your group's experience richer and more fulfilling
Meet The Maker Events
Using our years of experience at the Festival, we are arranging several events, cocktail parties, talk-backs and mixers with the very performers, creators and producers whose art we'll be enjoying throughout our stay. Additionally we'll be targeting our show schedule to feature a different venue or Fringe producer each day to get you the most well-rounded experience of the places and cultures that make up the largest arts festival in the world.
A few of the venues to be featured:
The "Big 4" at George and Bristo Squares
Scotch Malt Whisky Society
An evening dinner and whisky tasting at the playful yet esteemed Scotch Malt Whisky Society will be a highlight of your time in Edinburgh. You'll love their unconventional expertise and passion that gives the place its charm. But know the whisky comes first and in it's purest form, the Society prizes flavor about all else.
Something for Everyone
Pickering's Gin Distillery
The first exclusive gin distillery in Edinburgh in over 150 years, Pickering's is a self-made institution built into the old dog kennels of the closed Veterinary Hospital that is now the revered Summerhall, home to over 100 businesses. You will be fascinated by the distillery, amazed by the gin and even charmed by Marc Pickering himself.
Printing Press
This picturesque and charming bar and bistro is built into the former home of Susan Edmonstone Ferrier, the "Jane Austen of Scotland", on historic George St in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town. The Printing Press, named as homage for the former resident, is a New Town staple. Modern elegance mixed with old-world Scottish cuisine. Menu features rotating, seasonal and locally sourced fare.
